Suzuka Yoshida

Suzuka san and her paintingsToday a young Japanese artist, Suzuka Yoshida, visited our home with some of her paintings. We had seen her work at one of our friend's home and got interested.

Samuli practiced his Japanese, since this week's lesson was about "Would you like to have some cake?" (Okashi wa ikaga des ka?) and "Would you like to have another cup of tea?" (Kocha o mo ippai ikaga des ka?).

While having tea, we admired the artwork and tried to make up our mind on which paintings we prefer. We chose two: The Blue Boy for Oskari and The Red Girl for Aura.

Riikka had long discussions with Suzuka san about art and Finnish art especially. We plan to invite her over another time and maybe buy some more of her works.

Suzuka san's homepage shows more of her work.
