Finland class at my school
Today was the independence day of Finland. I held a Finland class at my school with my mom and dad.
We talked about Finland, our female president, our history, and our location on Earth and how that effects on the midnight sun and kaamos.
What it looks like when 5 million people live in Finland in about the same area as 128 million in Japan. How Helsinki metro and landscape are different from Tokyo.
We showed how winter in Finland looks like and how the whole country can be colder than your freezer!
I also though my friends some Finnish like "Kokko, kokoa koko kokko kokoon. Koko kokkoko? Koko kokko."
At the end we watched Lordi's show in the Eurovision song contest. My whole class was wawing Finnish flags and cheering like the crowd in Athens.
Then we tasted some Finnish bread and candy. And ofcourse we displayed Moomin, Marimekko design, childrens books, kuksa (wooden mug) and other things from Finland.
Finally everybody did group works and studied Finland in pictures, Finnish map and facts, Finnish language and Finnish nature and animals.
That was fun,
Oskari

Hyvä joulua perhe kanssa:)
Hienoa, näyttää hauskalta!
Nyt täällä Suomessa ei ole lumesta tietoakaan, mutta tämä onkin vähän epätavallinen talvi.
